...checking up

ah, the expected-yet-unintentional neglect of the blog. at least its better than the year and a half or whatever that I left it alone before this most recent "effort".

any-hoo, signing a lease on a new apartment tomorrow, should be cool. i'll actually have a porch. well, its a 3x3 space on a step, but its a porch to me.

MTV2 shows Yo! MTV Raps (old school) in the afternoon? Cool. That kicks almost as much ass as TBS running Family Guy in syndication afternoons at 2:30. Now if they could just find a way to run nothing but Family Guy and Simpsons... I wouldn't have to leave the house. Except to use my porch.

There's alot more I've thought about for this space, but it takes alot more thought and creativity than I can give it right now, so here's the bullet points:

-Maurice Clarett is an idiot. As much as I hate Ohio State, this guy is really an idiot. Maybe individually any of his crap wouldn't be worth yanking him from the team, but collectively, I don't see how anyone can feel sorry for the idiot. Damn kids.

-San Diego State football staff members got busted with open container in their offices and Polaroids from Columbus Gold (the strip club NOT featured on Comedy Central's Insomniac last week. I've been there. Never took pictures. REALLY never left those pictures around for the boss to see. Though if the little brunette that did that thing with the thing and the thing at my brother's bachelor party last summer happens to stop by this site, you know where to find me. For real. Okay, maybe not "for real", my stack of ones would run out eventually, and that would suck.

-Kicking someone's ass in softball is fun. Even though its "just softball", its fun. And I'm about to go out and (hopefully) do it again.

Later.

...best beatdown ever

so i got to thinking while watching High Fidelity on Comedy Central last night... which is the better (if not the best ever) beatdown scene in a movie. There's something about the heel-stomping, bat-swinging, raw-white-collar raging destruction of a printer in Office Space, and then there's the classic one-two old school telephone/window air conditioner thrashing laid down on Tim Robbins in High Fidelity. both have their bonus points, the latter for the ingenious use of random appliances to beat a pinko commie freak to a pulp. (And I bet Robbins hasn't been that sore since the last time Susan Sarandon broke out the strap-on). On the other hand, who among us hasn't dreamed of/attempted/carried out the type of unabashed peripheral abuse in Office Space? tough call, but I think I'm going to have to lean toward High Fidelity in this one.

though give me pre-mom Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jennifer Aniston and a pool of Cool Whip, and I'll be a happy man regardless.

...closer every day

okay, so a little tweaking and this thing is starting to look like i know what i'm doing. that said, i really don't like the 'edge to edge look'. but i'm too tired to go on, we'll continue this tomorrow.

though i realized today by looking through different blogs on here, scanning for ideas/styles/techniques/places to 'borrow' code from/etc... that these things are incredibly self-serving and I really don't care about anybody but myself. well, i shouldn't say that, but most of the blogs i've come across are pretty out there. oh well, to each their own, i'm sure each and every blog makes someone happy.

...scary thought...

just caught something about web hosting and bandwidth. now, seeing how my blog is pretty much in a pre-larva stage and i don't expect anyone to have stopped by for any length of time (but I promise, its getting better!). any-hoo, if anyone has their own domain and can give estimates on how much bandwidth is used, especially for a site that is mostly text, maybe a few pictures from time to time, but nothing too extravagant, it would be appreciated. please please email me and let me know what I should look out for. I don't know what this is going to grow into, but I'd like to be safe and sure that I'm not going to underestimate the bandwidth when I venture into the world of real domains.

thanks. i'm going to sleep now.

...more to blog

see if i can get a big paragraph out of this to see what kind of formatting I can come up with. hell, i'll just type whats at the right. this is the main blogger editing screen. from here, you can create new posts, find and edit old posts, and publish your blog.

to begin, just click and start typing in the big white box in the top of the page. when you're done with your post (or just want to save what you have so far), hit the post button in the upper right, beneath the tabs.
